Menno Dijkstra started at the world famous Dojo Chakuriki of Thom Harinck at age 15. There he trained with fighters like Peter Aerts, Jerome le Banner and Hesdy Gerges for years.
At the age of 21 Menno Dijkstra became Netherlands’ Champion 70kg (154lb) at the NOC-NSF recognized association NOVER. He defended the title 2 more times successfully. In 2008 and 2010 he followed another European and World title fight which he both won. His best weapon was the low kick, which he managed to end many fights early with.
Today Menno travels regularly to Brazil, where a chakuriki dependance is established. He gives seminars about the Chakuriki style of kickboxing to hundreds of enthusiastic Brazilians, together with his old trainer Thom Harinck.
Menno’s trainings are physically tough, varied and a lot of attention is paid to learn the right technique. His specialism is the Pads training. This is a trick itself that only a few of the Dutch trainers have mastered. It is a perfect way to learn kickboxing 1 on 1 and contains all facets of training like; technique, shape, timing and speed.
